The College of Engineering Recharge Center provides service to students, faculty and other entities for the purpose of education, research and service to the community. We have three load frames, two high performance 3D printers and two standard performance 3D printers. Our goal is to provide training, instruction, service and consulting to the NDSU community and beyond.

Using the Recharge Center

The College of Engineering Recharge Center operates from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday.

• Internal users should submit a departmental PO or Service Request and Billing Authorization form.
• External users will need to submit the Engineering Activities Agreement and Job Estimate.

Note:  An external user is anyone who cannot charge the service being performed to an NDSU/foundation fund or project.  NDSU personnel and students are considered external users if they are using equipment for personal use.

Recharge Center Rates

Load Frames [includes MTS Criterion, Instron and Servo]

• NDSU rate = $30/hr
• External rate = $43.50/hr

High Performance 3D printer [includes Markforged and Figure4]

• NDSU rate = $.25/gram
• External rate = $.36/gram

Standard Performance 3D printer [includes Raise3D and Bambu Lab]

• NDSU rate = $.08/gram
• External rate = $.12/gram
