Research Overview: The convergence of organizational communication and intercultural communication grounds my research as a scholar. I employ multiple research methods to study organizational communication in different cultural settings. My past works have explored various organizational constructs including organizational dissent, organizational assimilation, workplace freedom of speech, and organizational reputation. Another line of my research centers on migrant workers. I am interested in investigating how migrant workers' organizational life is linked to their social life, health outcomes, perception of host society, motivation to assimilate, etc.

Teaching Overview: I teach organizational communication courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. I believe teachers are more than just information disseminators. Great teachers should share the passion for knowledge with their students, foster students' interest in the subject, inspire students' creativity, and equip students with needed skills for future challenges. I aim to create a collaborative environment to challenge students' understanding, confront them with challenging questions and help them find their own answers. I strive to provide students with a safe classroom environment that allows for interaction among students and between students and me.
