  • Ms. Kayla Dewey became the Assistant to the Chair in CM&E department on August 16, 2018. Kayla is a Moorhead resident and graduated from the University of Minnesota Crookston with a double major in business management and business marketing. She worked as a Customer Service Specialist and then spent the last 5+ years as a team lead/accountant for Archway Marketing at Microsoft. Ms Dewey has excellent supervisory experience and is familiar with working and supervising a diverse audience. Her experience reconciling accounts will make her a great asset to the department.
  • Congratulations to the winning team of Ryan Holte, Tracer Bowar and Nathan Torkelson at the 1st Annual CM&E Quiz Bowl sponsored by NAHB Student Chapter.
  • Congratulations to Ryan Holte! He is selected to receive 2017 $1,500 scholarship from Minnesota Subcontractors Association.
  • Dr. Bowen received $587,517 from NSF for his research in Research Experience for Teachers.
  • Dr. Matt Stone developed the training course on erosion control for the ND Department of Transportation and has taught the course since 2015.
  • Dr. Huojun Yang and other NDSU faculty members are working on the building energy efficiency project for the City of Fargo.
  • Dr. Jerry Gao received the AGC Foundation Faculty Internship award in the summer of 2015.
  • BS in Construction Management program received a six-year renewal of accreditation by ACCE in Feb. 2015.
  • Syed Owais Ahmed, a MS in CM student, was inducted into the Tapestry of Diverse Talents in February 2015.
  • Research result of Mohammad Molla (Ph.D. student) was featured in the TRB University Research Newsletter.
  • Congratulations to Mohammad Molla for received scholarships to help promote his professional development in remote sensing technologies.
  • Dr. Jerry Gao received the NDSU International Student and Study Abroad Services Diversity Award in April 2014.
  • Prof. Bai served as the Technical Committee chair for the 10th Asia Pacific Transportation Development Conference, which was held in Beijing, China from May 25-27, 2014 (read more...).

  • Samuel Caven, a senior student in Construction Management Program, has been awarded a $4,000 scholarship for the 2013-2014 academic year by the AACE International Education Board.

  • The 2012 International Conference on Construction and Real Estate Management (ICCREM 2012) was successfully held in Kansas City from Oct. 1-2, 2012. 341 abstracts were submitted, of them 188 were published in the conference proceedings. 64 presentations were given in the two-day conference. Dr. Jerry Gao was one of the keynote speakers and Dr. Yong Bai was the conference chair (read more...).
  • Dr. Yong Bai was selected as the chair of the Department of Construction Management and Engineering. He began work in July, 2012.
  • Drs. Asa and Gao were promoted to associate professor with tenure in spring 2012.
  • Dr. McIntyre was elected as a fellow of American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) in spring 2012.
