Dairy dietary accommodations:
NDSU Dining Centers
NDSU Dining unlimited meal plans include access to all three dining centers: Residence Dining Center, West Dining Center, and Union Dining Center.
The West Dining Center is the designated allergen friendly dining facility. West is where you’ll find Clean Eats - a food station that serves meals that are free of the top 9 allergens (including milk). Clean Eats serves full meals during lunch and dinner, and offers a continental breakfast in the mornings. West also has dairy free alternatives such as soy and rice milk, and a vegetable oil spread in place of butter. The Residence Dining Center and Union Dining Center have almond milk as their dairy free milk alternative.
Menu Labeling
When it comes to learning more about the ingredients in foods served at the dining centers, NDSU Dining uses a program called “Menus on the Web” to display nutrition labels online. Menus on the Web can be accessed via desktop at ndsu.edu/dining/menu or on the NDSU Dining mobile app.
The West Dining Center and the Residence Dining Center also use digital menu boards that display menu and allergen icons above each food station, so guests can view the menu and quickly identify which foods (if any) contain milk. Depending on the severity of your food allergy, you may feel comfortable eating at other stations when the menus have foods that do not contain milk. However, it is highly recommended that individuals with a severe allergy only eat at Clean Eats to reduce the chance of consuming anything with cross contact. For example, some stations may serve fried foods that do not contain milk as an ingredient, but may be fried in the same oil as another item that contains milk.
