Creative Writing Camp

All students entering grades 7-12 may participate, regardless of skill level. Graduated seniors may participate as well. Daily sessions include fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, screenwriting, song writing, and cartooning.

2024 Fargo Camp

Camp #1: June 24-28
Camp #2: August 5-9
9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Study with professional writers and educators from North Dakota State University, North Dakota State College of Science and the University of North Dakota. The camp will culminate in a public reading.

In order to provide this opportunity to young artists across the state, and to accommodate for ongoing COVID-19 concerns, the 2023 camp will include both an in-person (at NDSU) and a virtual option. Lodging is not provided.

$230 in-person fee includes daily snacks and lunch. The fee for virtual participants is $180. Both costs include all materials, a camp t-shirt, and prize drawings.

There will also be a grades 4-6 camp this year. Dates for this camp are June 17-20, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.. This camp cost is $100 for in-person or virtual. Scholarships will be full or half.
