Conversational English Circles

CEC is an activity sponsored by the NDSU English Club.  Members of the English Club (mostly undergraduate English and English Education majors) invite international students to participate in informal conversations on a weekly basis. International students have an opportunity to improve their conversational English skills and to learn more about American culture.  American students develop an improved sense of idiomatic English, and they also learn about other countries and cultures.

The meetings often include a short “lesson” on some aspect of American language and/or culture—and sometimes one or more of the international students tells about something related to his or her home country.  Then the people in each circle discuss a suggested topic…or they may decide to talk about something else.

Everyone is invited to participate.  All meetings are held on Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 pm.
