What's Fargo like?! Am I going to be bored?

In short: No! Fargo is regularly recognized as an awesome little city! The Washington Post recently featured Fargo, highlighting a number of great Fargo activities. From amazing restaurants to local theater and art galleries to parks and running trails, there's never a dull moment. Come find out why we are North of Normal.

Can I apply if I’m graduating this May?

Unfortunately, the REU is open only to those students who retain their undergraduate status at the time of the summer program.

Can international students apply?

NSF restricts REU programs to students who are U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, or permanent residents of the United States.

How many students are you accepting this year?

We anticipate accepting 10 undergraduates this year.

Can I begin the REU later than the May start date?

We do request that all students arrive in Fargo in time for our May start date. This helps to build the cohort experience and make sure you are settled in and ready to go! If you have a conflict, please reach out to us as we may be able to make an accommodation.

Where will I live?

You will reside in our Living/Learning Center, which is adjacent to the Wallman Wellness Center
