What are your primary job responsibilities?
Primary responsibilities include: training new hires, designing all the structural components for electrical substations, managing multiple engineering projects from estimation through completion of construction, leading a team of engineers to compete designs of substations, and working on business plans for the company.
Describe what your day-to-day work life looks like.
Day to day involves multiple meetings to verify the project is on track, digging into the actual design of the structural components, and working with clients to give them the product they are requesting. Currently the job is about 90% office and 10% in the field. In the office its about 50% meetings and 50% design.
What is most rewarding about your job?
The most rewarding part is seeing the plan come through, and watching all the hard work during the design pay off and getting to the field to see the product working, or installed.
What is most challenging about your job?
Time management and getting switch tasked while working on items. Having multiple tasks and project going on at the same time it gets tough to dig into one task for an extended period of time.
