Garrett receives ACCP Walmart Health Equity Scholarship for Pharmacy Students

Congratulations to NDSU PharmD Student Taylor Garrett. Garrett was one of two students from NDSU chosen as a recipient of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (ACCP) Walmart Health Equity Scholarship for Pharmacy Students. This scholarship recognizes a student's leadership, academic success, and a commitment to serving rural or medically underserved patient populations upon graduation.

Garrett, who is a third-year professional pharmacy student, states that  "Receiving this scholarship will significantly impact my pharmacy school journey and long-term career goals. My aspirations to serve underserved and rural areas, where access to healthcare, including mental health services and emergency care, is often limited. Financial support from this scholarship will alleviate the burden of tuition and living expenses, allowing me to concentrate fully on my studies and professional development."

This scholarship helps free up resources and allow Garrett to engage in extracurricular activities and volunteer opportunities that align with interests in psychiatry and emergency medicine. Garrett plans to participate in internship and research projects focused on addressing health disparities in rural communities.
