Web Audit Checklist
Obviously copied ...
This Web Audit Checklist is designed as a tool to help create the best possible online experience at ASU. The checklist is designed to be used as a self audit – pointing out strengths and weaknesses of a specific site.
This checklist can be used at any time during the life of a site, although it can be particularly helpful at the beginning of a design or redesign.
Who to include
A Web site, like the research or educational activities at ASU, should by its very nature be interdisciplinary. A good site should be built with the input from a variety of fields, including technical, design and communication – without all areas working in concert, the end result would be limited.
Due to the comprehensive nature of this checklist, people with the following skill sets should be included on the team doing the self-audit:
- Web editing
- Web development
- Visual design
- Usability/accessibility
- Marketing communications
- Security
Audit options
The checklist is available in three formats:
- Broken into sections for easier scrolling
- Complete audit on a single page
- Downloadable: pdf (40.1kb) | Word (130kb)
Links for more information
The audit checklist includes 2 main types of links to provide more information on a topic.
- The underlined links provide direct connections to pages within the University Communication Guide. The link will direct you to existing guidelines that help clarify usage.
- The icon leads to information that will help explain the intent of the audit guideline and give examples of how to put it into action.
