Celebrating Excellence: Dr. Oudom Hean Wins the Fred Waldron Research Award at NDSU

We are delighted to announce that Dr. Oudom Hean, a faculty member and Challey Institute Scholar at North Dakota State University (NDSU), has been bestowed with the highly esteemed Fred Waldron Research Award. This distinguished accolade, presented by the NDSU Development Foundation Board of Trustees, is a testament to Dr. Hean's exceptional contributions to research and scholarship in the fields of economics and finance.

During his three years at NDSU, Oudom has delved into unique research areas, authoring or coauthoring 17 peer-reviewed journal articles, a book chapter, and two influential technical reports, one for the World Bank. His research spans a diverse spectrum of topics, including the impact of bank competition on entrepreneurship, the effects of school closures on marginalized communities during COVID-19, and the role of state taxes in fostering innovation. These distinct areas of study showcase his originality and the breadth of his contributions, sparking intrigue and inspiration.
