Jamie Holding Eagle, MPH grad student, presented at Terra Madre and Salone del Gusto, Slow Foods International in Turin, Italy. She was a member of U.S. delegate sponsored panel about native food. The main mission of Slow Foods is to promote good, clean and fair food for all.
Holding Eagle discussed the planting of corn with her children in the traditional way, using digging sticks and how attitudes can affect how the plant will grow and the food created. Holding Eagle plans to continue studying the health-promoting qualities of traditionally grown foods and the growing process.
