I give a quiz/test during the first part of the hour and lecture afterward. How can I provide extended time?

The student needs to be provided with extra time on the quiz. There are several options that are available. The student could start the quiz before class. All students could be given the extended time. The student could take the quiz after class. The key point is however, that the student be allocated the additional time for the quiz.
