Recent NDSU Public Health grad started working in field during pandemic

Sarah Swartz began her spring 2020 semester like any other. Then came the coronavirus pandemic. During her last semester before graduation in Public Health from NDSU in May, she began working as a contact tracer.

“I am gaining more knowledge from this experience than any textbook or presentation could provide for me,” said Sarah Swartz, who graduated with a master’s degree in Public Health from NDSU, specializing in management of infectious diseases. She said the skills will help her be successful as a Public Health professional.

Dan Gunderson from MPR News interviewed Swartz to learn more.
